Ellyisms

Elly's into repeating things this week:

"I'm going to set the timer. You need to go to bed in 6 minutes."

"Piggy's going to the potty. You need some privacy, Piggy?"

"You're driving me nuts!"

And on her way to Daddy's office after dropping Eli off at school Friday (she had to stay home with a stomach bug):

"No! I want to go to school!"

"My tummy's good!"

Eli-isms

Heard this week:

"I found a rubber band and pulled it, and it went up into the air...and it DISAPPEARED! I did a real magic trick!"

"When I'm 15 I'm going to be as big as everybody, even Woo-kash. (that's UK's 7 ft. backup center from Poland, Lukasz Obrzut.)"

Getting a new kitchen floor

"Elly, don't you think you and I could work together and tear this floor up just as well as Jake and Aaron?"

"Mommy's new floors!"

"And a new fridge and stove too!!"
("Leave my food alone Guinness!)

Ellyisms and favorite songs

Ellyisms:

"Run to your life!"

"I having good choices!"

"I want to hear 'Joy to the Wor-lord!'" - we hear this one less often the further we get from Christmas.

Mommy: "Elly, what should we get to put in our new fridge?"
Elly: "Ummm...Watermelon!"

Favorite songs:

"Blue skies, smiling at me, nothing but blue skiiies!!" (Nothing like singing Willie Nelson on the potty.)

"Baa Baa Blacksheep" - Not only do we have to sing this at least once every night before bed, but apparently when Elly's teacher had her husband come in to play guitar for the class he alternated between BBBS and one other song for an entire 1 1/2 hour performance. Whenever he'd finish a song Elly would call out, "Play Baa, Baa Blacksheep!"

Frere Jacque - The original, and the "in English" version also have to be sung every night before bed.

And the perennial favorite, "Happy Birthday (to Elly)" - At Elly's request the class sang "Happy Birthday (to Elly)" every day during circle time from her birthday (end of Sept.) to the winter break.

big boy helmet, just like I asked for!!!

helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads!!- Eli

And I got a big girl bike and a big girl helmet, too!!!! - Elly

I even got some cowgirl boots from Mommy and Daddy! And I couldn't wait to put them on.

We went to Grandmom's for the rest of the day. Everybody was there. Here we're taking a story break. (I wore my knee pads all day. They came in handy when we got to ride our new bikes in the basement. - Eli)

The three days of Christmas - Christmas Eve at Gran Jan and Gran Tum's

Waiting patiently until we can open presents. (Can't you tell we've been good this year?)

Yes! New sleeping bags. (I slept in mine that night while I waited for Santa to come to our house. - Eli)

A winter break field trip to Gran Tum's office

In between Christmas shopping we went to Winchester to visit Gran Tum at his office.
Hard hats - check!
We're ready!
How old do you have to be to run one of those cranes?

What to do when it's 60 in December?

"I a monkey!"

I'm riding my motorcycle that I got for Christmas last year. (This year I've asked Santa for a big boy bike and a big boy helmet.)
